Being a pioneer in digital transformation, Softplan brought to the event a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in implementing integrated management systems.

If you weren't at ERP Summit 2023, check out Softplan's main highlights from the event below and see the insights from the talks.

Easy Checklist and Softplan: Operational efficiency in practice

In the lecture "Operational efficiency in practice", taught by Bruno Parra, CRO of Checklist Fácil (Easy Checklist), Bruno presented some success stories and addressed topics such as data, automation and BI.

During his presentation, Parra highlighted three companies as examples of successful digital transformation: Assaí, Saint Gobain and Votorantim Cimentos.

In the first case, from the company Assaí Atacadista, for example, we see that even a large and recognized company in self-service retail and wholesale faced operational challenges, such as the lack of standardization in processes and manual operations, with sending data through spreadsheets and validation by email.

Furthermore, Assaí ended up experiencing many human errors and, consequently, difficulties in building reliable indicators.

The solution adopted by the company was to use technology to control process management, digitize and automate operations through the Easy Checklist.

The results were significant, with efficiency gains of up to 2 hours per operation in more than 190 stores, in addition to the veracity and control of the information collected.

In addition to Assaí, the cases of Saint Gobain and Votorantim Cimentos also brought interesting insights. Although the three are from different segments, they share important similarities.

In addition to the focus on innovation to achieve operational efficiency and process standardization, all companies started with a specific process or area, focusing on implementing and measuring results.

In addition to the three main cases, Parra also mentioned other successful examples, such as Telhanorte, Smart Fit and Raízen, which had a very positive impact on operational efficiency in day-to-day corporate operations.

When talking about the impact of operational efficiency on companies, Parra presented a study in partnership with a consultancy to measure the financial impact of operations that underwent process digitalization.

The results were surprising:

  • Savings of up to 80 thousand sheets of paper per year on tools;
  • Cost reduction with proprietary technologies, manual processes and human errors;
  • Reduction of 150 emails per week;
  • Reliable indicators;
  • Gain 2 hours of work per day per analyst;
  • ROI of 204%, payback of 7.3 months and savings of more than 840 thousand reais in 3 years.

Softplan Lecture: Inorganic growth as a growth lever.

In the lecture "Inorganic growth (M&A) as a lever for growth and transformation", taught by Guilherme Tossulino, Director of Strategy and M&A at Softplan, Tossulino addressed key points about Softplan's accelerated growth over the years.

The presentation highlighted the Softplan Group, highlighting its impressive trajectory with eight acquisitions made since 2018 and its international presence.

Furthermore, Tossulino emphasized that innovation at Softplan is aligned with the business strategy, as Softplan has an ambitious goal of achieving revenue of 1 billion reais by 2025.

The eight acquisitions made so far already represent 25% of the group's revenue in 2022.

Accelerated growth curve

Currently, Softplan is divided into two segments:

  • MultiSaas - Construction Industry, Legal Intelligence and Operational Efficiency and Productivity
  • DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION - Justice, infrastructure and works, digital and administrative processes

In order for the integration of companies to happen in a more organic and efficient way, Softplan highlighted the guiding principles for these processes, which are:

A close look at people, identifying, welcoming, engaging and retaining key talents during and after the integration process.

It was also highlighted the importance of not negatively impacting revenue, through the development and implementation of communication strategies with customers to mitigate possible impacts on revenue.

Another principle highlighted was avoid increasing the cost structure, adopting diligence and transparency in this aspect, to prevent the acquired company from being burdened with costs arising from the integration process.

Furthermore, the efforts to mitigate impacts on the operation during ERP implementation, deeply understanding these impacts and implementing strategies to reduce them in day-to-day operations.

Engage and involve key people During the process of implementing the new system, it was also highlighted as essential.

And finally, communication was emphasized as key to success, highlighting the need to create rituals and processes to communicate project progress to all stakeholders, mainly to employees.

The talk provided valuable insights into the importance of inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions as a lever to drive growth and transformation in organizations, highlighting the strategic approach and essential principles for successful integration.

Softplan and Sienge Lecture: Management supported by technology

The lecture "Management supported by technology", given by Cristiano Gregorius, Executive Director of Sienge, addressed how technology can bring better results to organizations.

Among the benefits are the enhancement of intellectual capital, the reduction of errors and rework, greater agility and centralization of information, in addition to improving the integration of processes and people.

However, Cristiano states that measuring these results is a challenge, since technology is an intangible product and adapts differently to each client.

The lecture emphasized the need to be an expert in the business, understand customers' pain points e structure an appropriate methodology to measure results that really positively impact your reality.

“It is essential to identify which metrics directly impact your business, how they are related to customer pain points and especially how your technology solves these pain points.”

Case: Sienge Method and Productivity in the Construction Industry

In the lecture, Cristiano Gregorius also showed the positive impact of technology Sienge Plataforma in productivity in the construction industry, such as increasing employee efficiency, speed in construction and cost savings per square meter.

Cristiano reinforced that The first challenge was to identify the metrics relevant to the business, since it has many regional variations, such as the relationship between built square meters and the number of employees, the size of the backoffice and purchasing teams, among others.

Based on this data, the Sienge platform's ROI method was applied to analyze samples that considered the number of employees, the segment of activity, the duration and size of the units, in addition to the number of units delivered in the last year.

Sienge Implementation Results

The results were surprising: Sienge customers achieved greater backoffice efficiency, with a significant increase of 55% to 70% in the delivery of square meters per employee, especially in projects like Minha Casa Minha Vida.

Furthermore, they managed reduce the size of purchasing teams by up to 30%, maintaining productivity.

In terms of build speed, Sienge customers built between 40% and 50% faster than other companies, resulting in the delivery of 1,5 to 2 times more housing units.

Furthermore, there was a significant cost reduction of 25% to 34% in the cost per square meter built, thanks to more efficient processes and management.

These results highlight the importance of being an expert in the business, knowing customer needs and establishing an appropriate methodology to measure impactful results aligned with their demands.

Softplan and Projuris and the Automation of legal demands

Addressing the innovation that technology can bring to different market segments, the last talk was with Cristiano Silva, the Marketing Director of Vertical LegalTech (projuris).

The sector's main problem was the number of pending and provisionally archived cases.

Then, Cristiano addressed the direct impact on the company's cash flow and discussed the size of the budget for the legal department and the provision of resources.

As a solution, an in-depth data analysis, process review, policy adjustment and the creation of new versions for the sales, purchase and contracting formalization instruments were proposed.

He also highlighted the role of technology, such as information storage, process automation and the use of artificial intelligence. The balance between judicialization and pacification was also addressed as a relevant aspect.
